At the heart of the event
The GTLC Backyard would not exist without the energy and dedication of many volunteers.
Every year, dedicated volunteers give their time to welcome runners, ensure safety, and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the event.
Their role is essential: they play a direct part in the race’s success and in the participants’ experience.
Why become a volunteer?
Being a volunteer means:
- experience the event firsthand
- share a special moment with a passionate team
- meet new people
- Learn about organizing a sporting event
- cheer on the runners as they take on the challenge.
It’s also a chance to see the race from a different perspective and contribute to the GTLC’s unique atmosphere.
The missions
Volunteers can help out at various stages of the event:
Before the race
- site preparation
- course marking
- setting up base camp
- preparation of race bibs.
During the race

- safety assistance along the route
- logistical support.
After the race
- dismantling of facilities
- equipment storage
- Closing of the event.
