Perched in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes, the Baraque de Fraiture is one of the highest points in the country, rising to an elevation of about 652 meters on the Tailles Plateau.
This vast natural plateau overlooks the Ardennes forests and offers an open, wild landscape deeply shaped by nature.
A place where the wind, the seasons, and the light shape the landscape.
A website dedicated to outdoor sports
At the top of the plateau lies La Station – Baraque de Fraiture, a sports center run by a nonprofit organization and recognized as an Adeps center, dedicated to outdoor sports activities.
The site covers nearly 25 hectares dedicated to outdoor sports and welcomes athletes year-round to participate in a variety of sports.
Depending on the season, you'll find:
- hiking and trail running
- Mountain bikes and gravel bikes
- BMX and outdoor activities
- downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, and sledding when there is snow
A true outdoor sports field.
An iconic spot in the Ardennes
La Baraque de Fraiture is known for its ski resort, the highest in Belgium, featuring several downhill runs and cross-country trails that wind through the forested landscapes of the plateau.
Once the snow melts, the site remains a gathering place for athletes, hikers, and nature lovers who explore the many trails of the Upper Ardennes.
A simple, authentic place deeply rooted in the region's sporting culture.
The GTLC Backyard Base Camp
It is here, in the heart of the plateau, that the GTLC Backyard base camp will be set up.
Each loop will start and end at this point.
As the hours go by, the site will become the hub of the race:
- recovery
- strategy
- refueling
- Start of the next loop
A place where the tension rises with every passing hour.
New Ground for the GTLC
Following the lakes and castles that have shaped the history of the Grand Trail des Lacs et Châteaux, the Baraque de Fraiture opens a new chapter.
A rugged plateau.
Natural terrain.
A place where every lap counts.
